Ein Turbodiesel wie der 635d (2007–2010) im BMW 6 (E63) arbeitet mit Luftüberschuss — mehr Leistung entsteht über mehr Kraftstoff, nicht über mehr Gemisch. Bei 210 kW (286 PS) steigt damit unweigerlich die Abgastemperatur, und die ist es, die dem Motor bei Mehrleistung zusetzt.
Empfohlene Konfiguration für den 635d (210 kW): Für diesen Motor sind mehrere Stufen hinterlegt; die Wahl richtet sich nach Softwarestand und Einsatzzweck. Stage 1 TD ist der Einstieg für den serienbelassenen Wagen. Stage 2.5 TD Power-Max regelt variabel und ladedruckgeführt — die übliche Wahl bei moderater Mehrleistung und Dauerlast. Stage 3 TD MPG-MAX ist die Vollausbaustufe für stärkere Software, Anhänger- und Langstreckenbetrieb.
Effekt in Zahlen: 100 bis 300 °C niedrigere Abgastemperatur, sichtbar sauberere Verbrennung und mehr thermische Reserve unter Dauerlast. Mit abgestimmter Software kommen 65 PS und mehr dazu.

Standard Boost Cooler kits ship with red pressure hoses and push-on fittings. The ProLine variant uses stainless steel braided lines and AN fittings - motorsport-grade pressure resistance, higher heat tolerance.
