Genau deshalb entscheidet die Ansauglufttemperatur unmittelbar darüber, wie viel Zündwinkel der Motor verträgt — gerade im Sommer und auf der Rennstrecke.
Empfohlene Konfiguration für den M3 CSL (265 kW): In dieser Kategorie sind mehrere Ausbaustufen freigegeben — welche passt, hängt vom Ausbauzustand ab. Stage 3 NA EFI DST ist die Ausbaustufe für Saugmotoren.
Effekt in Zahlen: −40 bis −70 °C weniger Ladelufttemperatur, spürbar größere Klopfreserve auf handelsüblichem Kraftstoff und eine Volllast, die auch bei hohen Außentemperaturen nicht mehr wegbricht.
