Beim 1.6 EcoBoost im Ford Focus III ist der serienmäßige Ladeluftkühler auf 134 kW (182 PS) ausgelegt — nicht auf mehr. Bei Softwareoptimierung wird die Ladeluft heiß, und die Klopfreserve schrumpft genau dort, wo die Mehrleistung anliegen soll.
Empfohlene Konfiguration für den 1.6 EcoBoost (134 kW): In dieser Kategorie sind mehrere Ausbaustufen freigegeben — welche passt, hängt vom Ausbauzustand ab. Stage 1 ist der Einstieg für den serienbelassenen Wagen. Stage 2.5 Power-Max regelt variabel und ladedruckgeführt — die übliche Wahl bei moderater Mehrleistung und Dauerlast. Stage 3 DI ist auf Direkteinspritzer abgestimmt — schneller Druckaufbau und passendes Düsen-Setup.
Effekt in Zahlen: −40 bis −60 °C niedrigere Ansaugtemperatur unter Volllast, dadurch mehr Klopfreserve und weniger Zündwinkelrücknahme. Die Leistung bleibt auch im Sommer und bei wiederholter Volllast stabil.
