Beim 1.6 EcoBoost im Ford Mondeo IV Turnier (BA7) ist der serienmäßige Ladeluftkühler auf 118 kW (160 PS) ausgelegt — nicht auf mehr. Bei Softwareoptimierung wird die Ladeluft heiß, und die Klopfreserve schrumpft genau dort, wo die Mehrleistung anliegen soll.
Empfohlene Konfiguration für den 1.6 EcoBoost (118 kW): Passend sind hier mehrere Ausbaustufen — entscheidend ist, wie weit der Motor bereits optimiert ist. Stage 1 ist der Einstieg für den serienbelassenen Wagen. Stage 2.5 Power-Max regelt variabel und ladedruckgeführt — die übliche Wahl bei moderater Mehrleistung und Dauerlast.
