Methanol Injection for the Audi RS3 8VA Quattro
(2.5 TFSI, 270 kW / 367 hp)
The 2.5 TFSI in the RS3 8VA is an inline-five with twin-scroll turbocharger — engineered for high specific power output from the factory and treated in the tuning scene as a "power-pickup without a ceiling". With Stage 1 software tunes many RS3s reach the 450 hp mark; hardware-supported builds (intercooler, downpipe, larger turbo) push 500–600 hp into realistic territory. Exactly in this load range the engine hits its thermal ceiling — water injection restores the thermal headroom that a high-end tuning build needs to actually deliver the power to the wheels.
Recommended configuration for the RS3 8VA: We recommend the Stage 3 DI variant. The 2.5 TFSI is a pure direct-injection engine; the DI-specific Boost Cooler controller with fuel-rail pressure mapping and Hyper-Sonic nozzle setup is the right path. Stage 2.5 Power-Max is a sensible pick for Stage 1 software without hardware mods (up to ~450 hp). Stage 1 Starter Kit is the unregulated entry option.
Effect in numbers: −40 to −60 °C intake air temperature under full load, +10 to +25 % power gain depending on stage, significantly reduced knock-control retard in upper RPM ranges, higher thermal reserve under sprint loads and track use.

Boost Cooler vs. Boost Cooler ProLine
Standard Boost Cooler kits ship with red pressure hoses and push-on fittings. The ProLine variant uses stainless steel braided lines and AN fittings - motorsport-grade pressure resistance, higher heat tolerance.
